Abstract
The aim of the paper is to present the benefits and costs of immigration and emigration, as well as the answer for question whether these phenomena represent an opportunity or a threat to the modern economy in Poland. At the beginning it was characterized by basic concepts of migration, including immigration and emigration, as well as migration policy. The author discussed the issue on the basis of imaging economic importance of these aspects for the economy of the country.
