Research interests: contemporary history of Poland, history of Western Pomerania after World War II, socio-economic history, Poland's foreign policy after 1989.
Member of the Board of the Polish Historical Society, Vice President of the Polish Historical Society, Szczecin Branch, Member of the Advisory Board of the National Museum in Szczecin, "Przełomy" Dialogue Center, Director of the Institute of History at the University of Szczecin (2008–2020), Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 19th General Congress of Polish Historians (2014).
