Abstract

Both modern enterprises and consumers need new technology solutions, that lead to formation new products, manufacturing processes, expansion of sales markets as well as changes in economic structure. Technology used by enterprises is the result of innovativeness performance of the firm, on the other hand the level of its adaptation is a demand from technology recipients. The article presents the problem of low innovativeness level of enterprises in podlaskie voivodship. The aim of the article is to present and evaluate the impact of technology channels on firms innovativeness. The subject of the analysis, covering the results of regional foresight and regional data, was taken for firms from podlaskie voivodship. Surveyed enterprises between 2012–2015 indicated low innovativeness level related to insufficient scope of technology cooperation. The results obtained in the survey showed a limited range of technological connections and technology transfer related to the dominance of low and medium-low technology sectors. Firms prefer independent research and development activity, that with low financial resources, does not allow to perform in innovation field. There is a significant role of new and modernized products sales, which allow to increase the degree of “renewing” capital resources is. Enterprises recognize the need of high involvement in technology transfer (especially international). This relates positively on employment in the research and development sector, the value of research equipment and expenditure on innovation activities. There is an increase in the level of cooperation with national customers, suppliers and other companies. The results obtained the need for the further research on the issues of technology transfer in peripheral regions, with particular emphasis on its flows and channels.
