Abstract

Family is a focus point of a lot of public debates, dissertations and journalism. Over recent decades great changes have been observed in this field. The transformation concerns new family models as well as parenting styles. Catastrophic visions presenting family decline and the triumph of the individual are noticed. Hence, what is the truth about modern family? How many judgements on it are based on actual tendencies and how many are determined by stereotypes?
