Abstrakt

The main topic of the paper is the cinematic landscape of Wyoming. At the outset, the author describes the state at a general level and recalls the most important ideas and concepts related to the subject of the American West and the frontier. This section also refers to literary and pictorial representations of the state. Then, the author analyzes selected film productions set in Wyoming. The film material was divided into 3 parts representing, respectively, classic, new wave and contemporary cinema. The author checks how the cinematic landscape of the Cowboy State has changed with the changes in manners in American society.
