Abstract
The article takes into consideration various definitions of foreign direct investments and highlight the most accurate in light of the article goal. In further part of article, Author cites microeconomics and macroeconomic theories in order to understand the reasons for FDI location and their consequences for the hosted economy. Most important consequences for the host country are specified in last part of article.
