Abstract
The article presents the problems of the development of peripheral areas. It deals with issues of revitalization of degraded areas with particular focus on border areas. The purpose of this paper is to present the concept of creating revitalization programs, taking into consideration their role in creating the basis of development of local communities including cross-border ones.
