Abstrakt

W artykule podjęto kwestię wpływu zmiany ratingu kraju na jego kursy walutowe. W związku z tym dokonano przeglądu literatury i postawiono hipotezę: zmiana credit ratingu kraju istotnie wpływa na zmiany kursów walutowych w momencie ich ogłoszenia zarówno w przypadku podwyżki, jak i obniżki noty ratingowej. Do weryfikacji hipotezy wykorzystano metodę event study. Jako zmienne zależne użyto procentowe zmiany kursów walutowych, natomiast jako zmienne niezależne wykorzystano długoterminowe ratingi kredytowe krajów publikowane przez S&P i Moody’s dla lat 2000–2015. Do badania wykorzystano dane dzienne zebrane z bazy Thomson Reuters dla krajów europejskich.
