Abstract

The article discusses the problem of measuring the fiscal multiplier. Firstly, the idea of a fiscal multiplier is explained. Then determinants of the size of fiscal multipliers are characterised. The next section provides some models, which are used in research on fiscal multipliers, including the Vector Autoregressive Model (VAR) and the Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE). At the end, based on a literature review the article presents the estimates of the size of fiscal multipliers.
