(Broadening of the SDR basket and its impact on the SDR’s position in international monetary system)

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to analyse the impact of enlargement SDR basket to their use as a reserve currency. Particular emphasis is put on the characteristics of the individual allocation of SDRs as well as changes in basket currency structure, both in percentage terms and quantity. The paper is based on the international literature and statistical data. The main sources of necessary data were taken from publications delivered by International Monetary Fund.
