Abstract

In a situation of real prospects of economic migration a Fair Trade movement can play an important role. Growing problems of social and economic disparities between the countries of the poor South and the rich North can be – at least partly – solved through the trading activity of local communities of large cities (“power of big cities”). If the community of cities in developed countries – with organizational support of public institutions – will be ready to implement the proposed in this article postulates the development of trade in Fair Trade can take place, and therefore it will follow the development of the economies of the poorest parts of the world. The aim of this article is to propose a new concept of fair trade (Fair Trade 3.0) and an indication of its theoretical assumptions. It is a concept of international trade which is based on the development of responsibility, the result of which can improve the indicators of GDP per capita in undeveloped countries, and will be completed “solidarity” and humanitarian grounds fairer management on an international scale. In theliterature, there is no analysis of the development of relations Fair Trade movement with the issues of economic migration, therefore this article can be a contribution to further research and propose empirical models.
