Abstract

It is obvious that to maintain a competitive advantage, enterprises must create and implement innovations. It means the necessity to engage in research and development (R&D). As the invention has the greatest potential for innovation become today one of the most valuable assets and it is why the problem of invention’s protection is so important. The aim of the article is to analyse the role and use of patent protection in the process of managing R&D activity.
