Abstract

The article presents diagnosis of social capital in Polish regions which is based on analysis of network relations i.e. from the structural point of view. The paper is based on the data of GUS and Diagnoza Społeczna of the participation of Poles in organizations of various types and on informal contacts with colleagues, friends and family. There was made a distinction between bonding and bridging social capital. In the last part of the work taxonomic methods were used to evaluate the synthetic resources of capital and to group similar regions based on the criterion of the structure characteristics.
