Abstrakt

Celem niniejszego artykuły jest przedstawienie zmian, jakie zachodzą na rynku międzynarodowych drogowych przewozów towarów na terenie Unii Europejskiej. Silnie rozdrobniona i technologicznie opóźniona branża ma obecnie przed sobą perspektywę głębokich przeobrażeń. Dotychczasowa przewaga konkurencyjna przewoźników budowana była w dużej mierze w oparciu na niższych kosztach pracy, w szczególności w grupie kierowców pojazdów ciężarowych. Przy pogłębiającym się deficycie kadr i rosnących kosztach osobowych rozwijająca się w szybkim tempie technologia może umożliwić nie tylko istotne ograniczenie występujących w branży nieefektywności, ale również zmienić układ sił na rynku. Za wcześnie jest wyrokować, czy zmiany będą miały charakter rewolucyjny czy ewolucyjny. Niemniej jednak można się spodziewać, że ich charakter będzie istotny i wymusi na przedsiębiorstwach transportowych niezbędne działania dostosowawcze.
