Ethics

Out of concern for ethical attitudes, academic rigour and quality of our Journal all the defected cases of ghostwriting and guest authorship, which are manifestation of scientific carelessness and negligence, will be revealed and the institutions the authors are affiliated to will be notified.

Ghostwriting means that somebody has a significant contribution in the creation of the manuscript, but has not been mentioned as one of its authors.

In turn, guest authorship (honorary authorship) means that somebody has been mentioned as the author or one of the (co-)authors of the manuscript in spite of the fact that they have not contributed to the creation of it, or their contribution was insignificant.

In order to prevent cases of ghostwriting or guest authorship the Editorial Office of the Journal:

  • demands that authors reveal contributions of all the authors in the creation of the manuscript (including their affiliation and detailed information of the authorship of the concept assumptions, methods, protocol, and the like of the publication); the main responsibility lies with the author who has submitted the manuscript;
  • demands that the article contain the information on the financing sources and institutional financing contribution (financial disclosure).
