Abstract

The subject of the research is to analyze the transport oriented factors and conditions of logistics macro- systems development as integral components of the global logistics system with special attention paid to the Polish logistics system. The main aim of the paper is to identify transport infrastructural and regulatory barriers hindering effectiveness and efficiency of the Polish logistics system as well as to indicate its development potential by reviewing it with logistics macro-systems of neighboring countries and leading countries in the global scale. The hypothesis asserts that it is necessary to intensify the efforts in the investments and regulatory sphere of that logistics system in order to improve its efficiency. It has been used the statistical analysis as a method to examine data of international economic organizations presented in their reports on the examined subject. The results of the conducted research indicate that higher level of cohesion of the Polish logistics system with the global one needs to be achieved. Consequently, the level of competitiveness of the Polish economy as well as trade enabling should increase significantly.
