Abstract

In their article the authors present new solutions resulting from the implementation of the directive of the European Union establishing a single European railway area to the Polish law. Particular attention is devoted to providing access to service facilities, mainly passenger stations. The process of providing access to the passenger station has been analysed in the light of the implementation of the proposed solutions to business practices on the Polish market of rail passenger services. The authors illustrate the need for and the substance of the issues using the technique of benchmarking to explore the German and French solutions. They point out the importance of the presented solutions for the practice of the Polish rail transport market.
