Abstract
The article presents the organizational changes of economic transport studies in Sopot, the evolution of scientific research, scientific achievements, the teaching staff and the effects of teaching as a career of students and graduates transport economics in Sopot. It has been shown that the beginnings of education dates back to the war period. The scope of research has evolved from the domination of maritime transport and seaports to the other modes of transport, then the general transport problems, forecasting and issues of global trends in transport, with particular emphasis on the EU’s policy in this regard. It has been shown that the scientific achievements of the Sopot school played an important role in the training of personnel transport and also other research centers and – thanks to numerous monographs in the education of students in the field of transport at various universities in Poland.
