Abstract
Determining the size of the demand for services in public transport requires a lot of knowledge, skills and apply different research methods. For the determination of future amounts of money from ticket sales for the local government budget planning method can be used relatively simple and does not require significant effort. This article aims to provide a simple calculation technique based on the principle of marginal increases including changes in factors affecting demand. The main factors affecting demand are: the number and age structure of inhabitants and the number of registered cars. The presented statements and calculations show that in the years 2015–2017 year will decline in revenue from ticket sales due to the increase in the number of passenger cars in Szczecin and changes in the age structure of population.
