(Food sharing as part of the sharing economy in the context of food waste)

Abstract
Aim of the article: analysis of the main assumptions of the Food sharing trend and assessment of development
opportunities in the context of reducing food waste.
Methodology of analysis: analysis of literature, internet, statistical sources and data made available by
other institutions allowing for juxtaposition of relevant concepts, definitions and data.
Results: the analysis indicates a noticeable and widespread trend in society related to the reduction of
food waste, which intensifies the widespread use of web applications.
Conclusions: in the current era, in the absence of a solution related to an effective food distribution
system (from regions where it is wasted to countries with its shortage), Food sharing has a chance to
become an important element supporting the reduction of the amount of wasted food and changing
public awareness in terms of negative effects related to this phenomenon.
