Abstract
This article discusses the shape of the dissertation in higher education. The authors try to answer the question of the differences between the BA thesis and the MA thesis. The criteria of the analysis are as follows:
• The place of the dissertations during the higher education,
• The types and functions of the theses,
• Assessment of theses.
An important point of discussion is the distinction of meaning between the scientific work and the work of a scientific nature. A method of differentiating between the BA thesis and the MA thesis is proposed in the conclusions of the article.
