Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present the expectations of Lower Silesia medical entities with regard to cluster in the context of the development of medical tourism. The paper indicates the main benefits and limitations connected with functioning within the cluster structure. The paper also presents the ideal model of medical cluster in the opinions of surveyed persons.  Lower Silesia is the Polish region, which is very attractive to tourists, moreover more and more entities provide medical services for foreigners. The region achieves better and better results in the medical tourism industry. However, the potential possible to use is much higher. Therefore, a good solution may be to create a strong entity - a cluster that would coordinate the work of medical tourism entities. Such a cluster could jointly promote their products and attract foreigners; it could assist in the development, improvement of the quality of services and adaptation to the requirements of foreign customers.
