Abstract

The subject of this paper are both insurance services and determinants of usage of these services by people over 50 years old. Although they do have a lower demand for insurance services than younger people, it is still possible to isolate a few smaller groups in this group that are significantly diversified in terms of potential demand for those services. In order to isolate these groups and to identify other determinants of usage of insurance a thesis has been investigated that there exist some groups of determinants of the usage of insurance services. The research carried out among 753 people confirmed the rightness of the adopted thesis. There have been indicated socio-demographics variables like income and labour market status and other variables directly related to insurance services such as terms of use, price and availability of service as a determinants use of insurance services in the age group 50+.
