Abstract

The study puts forward a proposal for the method of determining costs and boundaries the socalled corridors of low-cost flexibility, which enable to balance the manufacturing system flexibility and leanness levels. Precisely definition of corridor boundaries allow to flexible adapts of operational activities to the flexibility strategy, thereby reduce all costs its maintenance to the minimum. For this purpose, simulation modeling was used, whereby, based on data from the object of examination, the savings were determined, which are capable of being generated in the case of conducting operational activities in a defined flexibility corridor.
