Abstract

Purpose – The purpose of this article is to explain the definition of relationship banking and present its significance for German SMEs. Design/methodology/approach – Critical review of the literature polish and foreign of authors, desk research method, analysis and deduction. The selected content has been presented graphically. Findings – Explanation the definition of relationship banking. Analyzing the importance of bank credit bank for SME and present the main barriers faced by small and small and medium entities in application process for a bank credit. Originality/value – Taking into account the importance of bank credit in operating of SMEs, the size of the financial gap in the entities of SMEs and the reasons for the breakdown of credit negotiations with banks, it shows the importance of relationship banking in operating of SMEs and banks.
