Abstract

Purpose – The impact of corruption on investment is undeniably recognized in the literature. Discussions are continuing research on the impact of corruption on investment. The authors of the analysis of the literature suggests the possibility of corruption optimum value. Design/methodology/approach – Optimal level of corruption can be determined using only the functions that have the maximum value. They used for this purpose the function of a parabola and a logarithmic function. Using statistical tools and econometric verified hypothesis. Findings – Coefficients in econometric models adopted desired values, which it was possible to calculate the value of corruption maximize investments. Originality/value – Value added work is an indication of the possibility of an optimal level of corruption, proposing an original solution to the problem of the use of knowledge on the properties and functions of the empirical, positive verification of the hypothesis.
