Abstract

The fundamental objective of European regional policy is to achieve equality of economic, social and territorial development by redistributing financial resources between regions. The main aim of the article is to assess the effectiveness of using European aid funds as a determinant not only of socio-economic development of particular voivodships in Poland but above all of their internal socio-economic cohesion. The article presents the results of research on the degree of dependence between the value of projects co-financed by the EU funds implemented in particular voivodships and increasing the internal coherence of these voivodships. An assessment has been made of the impact of the localization of this type of investment on the change in the determinants of the development of individual regions in the social, economic and environmental dimensions.
