Abstract

The paper is a contribution to the discussion about the nature of language and thinking. Taking the assumption about its universal metaphorical nature as a starting point, we want to draw the attention to an interface of the system of conceptsʼ universal dimension and the individual dimension of the conceptualizations of particular people. The interrelationship between the two dimensions is presented with the use of selected examples.
